New Cambrian Era
Science Fiction新寒武纪元
Count Of The Galaxy
The sky leaked. First came the endless rain, drowning everything. The water towns in the south of the Yangtze River have been turned into ocean graveyards, and university campuses have been turned into cold islands. History student Chen Xu and his unexpected companions - the rational and calm senior Lin Wei, the physically strong sports student Zhao Dali, and the sensitive Zhou Wan - thought that surviving the flood was the limit. But they were wrong. The floods were just the prelude, and what followed was a rapid freeze that was far beyond anyone's imagination. When the temperature plummets at a rate of one degree per minute, when the waves solidify into billions of ice edges, when the familiar city turns into a deathly ice hell, the fragile shell constructed by civilization and technology is completely shattered. To survive, return to the most primitive state: temperature, food, shelter. On this way home, they must use books to burn bonfires, use knowledge as weapons, and trek on the boundary between human nature and beastliness. Friendship and love are crumbling under the test of absolute zero, but what supports Chen Xu is the last warm memory of "home" buried deep under the ice. This is not an epic, it is just what a few ordinary people did in order to survive on the glaciers of the "New Cambrian".
