Mr. Zheng Tianting taught geography courses at Peking University, Beijing Normal University and many other universities from 1922 to 1936, and published relevant textbooks. He should have a certain status in the field of historical geography, but he has not attracted much attention from the academic community. As the lecture notes of this department are compiled and published, I believe everyone will gradually become aware of his related achievements. This book is compiled by Professor Sun Weiguo from the Department of History of Nankai University and is divided into three parts: "Lecture Notes on Paleogeography", "About the Silk Road", and "Lecture Notes on World Human Geography". The whole book is both informative and readable. It forms a series with the "Lecture Notes on the History of Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties by Zheng Tianting" and "Lecture Notes on the History of the Ming Dynasty by Zheng Tianting" which have been published by our bureau. It is a work of high academic value.
