As an important genre in the history of Chinese poetry, frontier poetry has a dazzling glory in the history of Chinese verse. The compilation and selection of this book starts from the garrison poems in The Book of Songs and extends to the frontier fortress poems of the Qing Dynasty and even the late Qing Dynasty. During the selection process, in line with the principle of taking into account the richness of the subject matter and the novelty of the style, as well as the eclectic works of different eras and poets, key selections were made of important frontier fortress poets and classic frontier fortress poems of all dynasties since the "Book of Songs", especially the frontier fortress poems of the Tang Dynasty, with more than 160 works.
