When we look up to them with the word "great", they may feel only insignificance and helplessness; when we praise them with the word "glorious", they may only feel suffering and pain; when we evaluate them with the word "correct", perhaps they only feel confusion and hesitation. This book carefully collects and organizes the scattered details from hundreds of Long March memoirs, diaries and documentary works. It attempts to provide readers with the most original, authentic and vivid text about the characters, events, environment, politics, military, logistics and other aspects of the Long March through these "smallest components" in historical memory, and to reproduce the "original ecology" of the Long March.
