The whole book uses time as a clue, starting from "Enter the Southwest!" In 1949. " Tells the story of the Southwest Service Corps entering Chongqing and taking root in Chongqing's construction, until 2024, when the "Great Mission of "Alley Secretary"" reflects the transformation and rebirth of old communities. One incident is selected every year, either narrated by those who have experienced it, or interviewed in depth by the author.
