On April 25, 1920, Huang Housheng published the article "Reflections on Reading the Manifesto of the New Trend Column in Novel" in the fourth issue of Volume 11 of "Novel Monthly", which was the first paper researched for Mao Dun; in December 1931, Shanghai Now Dai Shuju published the first monograph on Mao Dun - "Critical Biography of Mao Dun" edited by Fu Zhiying, which included more than 20 important papers on Mao Dun in the past ten years, which significantly deepened and expanded Mao Dun's research and began to become independent.
