These are forty stories written by forty college students who majored in history during their studies about the experiences of three generations over the past sixty years. This is how they use every winter and summer vacation, even in the midst of complaints and helplessness, to collect ordinary and true stories that are connected to their lives. The areas involved include the coast of the East China Sea, both sides of the Qianjiang River, the Land of Abundance, the banks of the Huangshan Mountains, the foothills of the Tianshan Mountains, the source of the Yellow River, the White Mountains and Black Waters, and the hometown of Yan and Zhao... Each story unfolds into a small volume that is unpretentious and exudes a faint fragrance. It witnessed the changes and development of Chinese society in the past sixty years, helplessness and hope, glory and dreams from small points. It also witnessed the beautiful memories of youthful, perseverance and growth in the college days.
