The Qixing Canal is responsible for the water supply tasks of more than 1.2 Million acres of farmland irrigation and drinking water for humans and animals in three major Yangtou irrigation areas: Shapotou District, Zhongning County, and Qingtongxia City, Zhongwei City, Ningxia, 3 state-owned farms, and Guhai, Hongsibao, and Guhai expansion irrigation areas. It is a key water source project for the economic and social development of the Weining Irrigation Area, and an important water conservancy support for the sustainable development of the central arid zone.
