38K0

The Summer Palace Corridor was built in the 15th year of Qianlong (1750). It starts from Yaoyue Gate in the east and ends at Shizhang Pavilion in the west, with a total length of 728 meters and a total of 273 rooms. This promenade with Chinese classical architectural features has a total of 14,000 large and small paintings. It is not only famous for its bright colors, strong decoration, and aesthetic appeal that appeals to both refined and popular tastes. It is also listed in the "Guinness Book of World Records" for its rich painting themes such as paintings of flowers, birds, fish and insects, landscapes, and human stories, showing people a magnificent colorful scroll. The most fascinating among them are the more than 200 paintings of characters and stories. Most of these lifelike character paintings are selected from stories in the Chinese classical literary masterpieces "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Journey to the West", "Water Margin", "A Dream of Red Mansions", "The Romance of the Gods" and "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio". For this publication, 187 well-preserved color paintings were carefully selected, and the pictures were outlined using line drawing techniques. Vivid scenes and pictures appeared vividly on the paper, accompanied by text descriptions, which truly reproduced the artistic value and cultural connotation of the corridor color paintings.
