Chestnut Flavored Buns
During the rainy season of 2025, when I was cleaning up my ancestral house in my hometown, I found a hard-shell notebook left by my grandma. The words "Modu Renchang Textile Factory" on the faded cover were worn away by time. I opened the title page, and a yellowed French currency fell down. On the back, it read: "Brother Shen Zhou said that after he has saved thirty pieces, he will go to Xiafei Road to eat Western food." Curiosity prompted me to continue reading, "Qingming Festival in 1935, Magic City..."
