"The Tiger and the City That Never Sleeps" is a short story collection by Chen Zhiwei, which includes 81 works created by the author from 2009 to 2017. The author is good at creating wonderful tension in a short length of time. Some works are two to three thousand words, and some are only two or three lines, but they have a stronger impact on readers than ordinary short stories. There are only two works in the book with more than 10,000 words, namely "The Boy with Distilled Water", which is more realistic, and "The Tiger and the City that Never Sleeps", which is extremely complicated. The author's eyes hover over the edge of the refinery, observing a unique space that mixes Kafka's "Castle" with Joyce's "Dublin." On the industrial dock of the refinery, I saw the paralysis of life spreading, and the pungent sulfur smell could be smelled in the sea breeze... Such moments made people feel "a burst of joy."
