The protagonist, Xiao Er, stands at the age of 45 and looks back on the lives of herself and the other two protagonists. In fact, at this time, she was only 30 years old. There is an obvious geographical line in the story, that is, mountain village-town-provincial capital-capital, unfolding a completely Chinese picture. The second part, "Li Sao Paradise", is a companion piece to the first part, using a third-person narration instead. It mainly tells about the lives of the three protagonists when they were in the capital, using three parallel lines to narrate. They met in the same city, but did not recognize each other.
