This book is another work by Chen Shengqian on archaeological theory, methods, practice and reflection besides "Learning Archeology". If "Learning Archeology" is written for young people who are interested in archeology, are new to archaeology, and are new to working in the field, then "Thinking about Archeology" is aimed at archaeological researchers who have been working in the field for many years, as well as the general public who want to have a deeper understanding of archeology. The author analyzes the subject of archeology from the aspects of ontology thinking, archaeological significance, archaeological identity, the development of contemporary archeology, and the research status of Chinese archeology. In particular, he summarizes and reflects on the development of Chinese archeology, covering both its advantages and disadvantages, and puts forward good ideas.
