The name "Thin Code" is not just to excite a certain area in the otaku's brain. It has two meanings, which are mirror images of each other to some extent: First, science fiction is a way of viewing the world, like a filter, which distorts and reproduces reality, just like putting a layer of Marseille on it. But it is not so far away that it is incomprehensible, which is a thin code; secondly, compared to the "thick code" reality that is out of reach, science fiction can sometimes tell a few truths, clarify some common sense, clear away the fog, and restore the universe with a logical and self-consistent poetry, which is a thin code. A collection of short stories and short stories by Chen Qiufan, winner of the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award, the Global Chinese Science Fiction Nebula Award, and the World Science Fiction and Fantasy Translation Award. The story begins with a series of bizarre suicides. The old man who fell from the building inexplicably, the thirty-two passengers who jumped off the subway platform... The cause of death of the deceased was incredible, and there was no motive for suicide at all. Subsequent clues led the case to an academic field that had nothing to do with criminal cases: ophthalmology. The story takes a hurricane-like turn here, and all kinds of characters appear one after another. Children with sudden eye diseases, secretive officials, resentful lamas... All hint that the world is undergoing some kind of change; but people are still ignorant of this, and few people foresee that a thrilling natural selection is about to break out - the next night, the entire world will be involved in a sudden mutation frenzy, and no one can escape the great evolutionary revolution of hundreds of millions of years.

"History of the Future" contains a total of 16 of Chen Qiufan's masterpieces of science fiction short stories in recent years.
