This book is a collection of ideological essays by Mr. Chen Lai, dean of the Institute of Chinese Studies at Tsinghua University. From 1994 to 2018, classic fragments were selected from more than 20 years of explanatory texts on traditional culture and presented to readers. Mr. Chen Lai not only outlined the cultural characteristics of more than 20 years, but also made a creative elucidation of traditional culture, showing the power of reflection and criticism between the lines. From these thoughtful articles, we can get a glimpse of the academic inheritance of centuries-old traditional culture, the development of the traditional culture revival movement, the direction and pattern of traditional culture research, etc. Through interviews and other forms, this book vividly demonstrates Mr. Chen's unremitting exploration of traditional culture over the past twenty years, the ideological context of the revitalization of traditional culture, and the trend of traditional culture research in the past forty years of reform and opening up.
