This book is a representative work of essays by the famous professor and art critic Mr. Chen Chuanxi. The articles in the book are short and concise, either discussing a phenomenon or criticizing some characters, looking down at the past and present from an artist's perspective, and discussing Tao at home and abroad. Mo Yan called it "a wonderful book" with "magnificence and talent flourishing between the lines." Jia Pingwa also praised it: "This is a book that can truly be called a scholar's book.
