The Analects is a classic that records the words and deeds of Confucius and several of his disciples. Therefore, there are so many old annotated versions of The Analects of Confucius and the divergence of interpretations that few other books can match them. Nowadays, various annotated versions of modern languages and texts are constantly coming out, and they are added with various interpretations, making them more and more complicated. In order to meet the needs of this book for reading classic texts in college classes, this editor adopts the method of collecting several important old annotations and supplementing them with a small number of modern interpretations. The editor himself only rarely expresses his views on individual annotations, and uses modern styles to explain the meaning of words as little as possible.
