This book contains more than 40 essays by the author Cao Lvning, covering a time span from the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to modern times. The collected articles are divided into three parts according to the theme: The first part is "A Thousand Years of Stones", which mainly contains essays on stone carvings and the history of Buddhism.
