This book's study of the relationship between metaphysics and the poetics of the Wei, Jin and Six Dynasties will focus on basic poetic categories and poetry history issues, such as the relationship between metaphysics' "discrimination of words and meaning" and the categories of "word" and "meaning" in poetics, the development of the "discrimination of words and meaning" from "proud to forget words" to "exhausting meaning" and its historical significance in poetry, the emergence of metaphysical views of nature and "object" poetics, the establishment of "nature" as a category of literary criticism, etc. Through the analysis of the basic categories of Wei and Jin poetics and basic issues in the history of poetry, it is a basic research idea of ​​​​this book to explore the inner relationship between metaphysics and the development and construction of Wei and Jin poetics.

This book explores the form of early scholar-monk interactions and its relationship with literature from three main aspects: the confluence of Xuan-Buddhist thought, the formation of early Buddhist centers, and the literary creation of scholar-monk groups under the Buddhist background.
