It takes Dong Zhuo's official life as the main line of the story and tells the story of the power disputes between the royal family, relatives, eunuchs, party members, aristocratic families, and soldiers in the late Han Dynasty. The book is divided into four parts. The first part tells the story of the Han Dynasty Emperor Huan's time. Dong Zhuo was recommended as an official in Liangzhou. Dong Zhuo stood firm in Guanzhong to resist the rebels and became the most powerful of all the troops stationed abroad. Finally, he took advantage of the chaos and entered Luoyang to seize power and established Liu Xie as Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty. The fourth part tells the story of the era of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, when the interests of the great clans and Dong Zhuo were in conflict, and the anti-Dong sentiment in the imperial court was growing day by day, triggering the "Eighteen Route Princes to Revolt against Dong"; Dong Zhuo retreated to Guanzhong and was eventually assassinated by the Bingzhou Group.
