From a gender perspective, this book uses the core concepts of gender in the theories of Foucault, Butler, Derrida, Bourdieu and Spivak to analyze the representation of the "other" in the most representative feminist plays of the famous contemporary British female playwright Caryl Churchill, such as "Vinegar Tom", "Nine Heavens", "The Excellent Woman" and "The Swamp". It reveals Churchill's gender and class politics, and elaborates on her dialectical attitude towards the feminist movement and her postmodern feminist philosophical thoughts.
