This book is a virtual historical study of the world of Chinese martial arts. The interpretation is based on the premise that Jin Yong's martial arts is part of real history. It focuses on a coherent history of martial arts based on fifteen Jin Yong novels, legends of the Tang and Song Dynasties, and folklore of various periods. It combines the study of political and social history to retell the entire history of China from the Shang Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty for three thousand years.
