"Shi Gong An" is a public case novel in the late Qing Dynasty, also known as "The Strange Case of Shi", "Hundred Wonders", "The Strange Case of Three Gongs" and "The Story of Qing Lie". The original version has ninety-seven chapters, generally known as the "front set"; the ninety-seven chapters until the 528th chapter were continued by later generations, known as the "back set". According to research, the story of "Shi Gongan" was born out of the storytelling told by storytellers, and was later processed and compiled by literati. It was probably written during the Qianlong and Jiaqing years.
