The Book of the End of All Things
Short Fiction万物终焉之书
Anonymous Letter From Afar
Human beings have always believed that everything is in order, that heaven and earth are orderly, and that the four seasons are orderly. This solid understanding is nothing but a humble luck for the survival of a small race. The time and space we live in, the physics we follow, and the truths we firmly believe in have never been the true appearance of the universe. It's just a shallow layer of stability that accidentally condenses in the midst of chaos and silence. Before the ancient times when time had not flowed and dimensions had not been separated, the ancient things in the outer world had already occupied the boundless void. They are neither born nor destroyed, nor awake nor sleep, and are free from cause and effect. Silence overlooks the birth and collapse of countless worlds. Mortal reason is an extremely fragile barrier. It isolates the twisted dimensions, the creeping void, and the indescribable reality in the cracks of the stars. Once someone is lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the collapse of order, they will glimpse the boundless chaos and desolation beyond the sky. All logic, belief, and civilization in the world will turn into absurdity in an instant. Sobriety is never salvation. For those who have touched the truth of the universe, madness is the only destination and compassion.
