"Poems of a Thousand Families" was widely circulated in the Ming and Qing dynasties and was a popular book for children who taught poetry in private schools. Its main characteristics are: there are many famous writers and many famous articles; it is superficial and uses few allusions; it has more joy and less irony. Although it is a textbook for elementary school students, it is not a "children's poem". Most of the poems selected are works by famous writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties, and we just selected those that are "easy to recite". Moreover, the poets selected are not limited to famous poets, including emperors, generals, ministers, hermits, female authors and even unknown authors. In terms of subject matter, various forms reflect the social reality of the Tang and Song Dynasties. This book is based on the lithographic version of "Annotation of Qianjia Poems on Drawing" published by Shanghai Jinzhang Book Company, and is fully annotated and readable.
