A Brief History of Robots
History机器人简史
(us) Dustin A. Abnett
This book traces the history of the idea of robots in American culture, exploring the evolution of Americans' ideas about cyborgs, automatons, and robots from the 18th to the 21st centuries. Starting from an interdisciplinary perspective and drawing on sources such as intellectual history, literature, film, and television, the author explores how robots and the devices derived from them are not only conceptually related to each other, but also embody some of the most important issues in modern culture, such as male and female differences, racial differences, slavery, republicanism, mechanization, post-industrialism, etc.
