"I want my reputation." - Arthur Miller's classic work, "the conscience of American drama", captures the painful feet of outsiders with a family tragedy. It was jointly translated by the famous translators Tu Zhen and Mei Shaowu, and was published in a Chinese version for the first time in China. "A View from the Bridge" is a two-act play written by Arthur Miller in 1955. About a year after its premiere, the play was a huge success, first in London and then in Paris, where it ran for two years. After a lapse of 60 years, the new version launched by NTLive won two of the Tony Awards - Best Director and Best Revival of a Drama - which symbolize the highest achievement of theatre, achieving a successful return of the classic play. Dockworker Eddie and his wife Beatrice lived a poor life. They raised Sister Bei's orphan Catherine. Catherine is almost an adult and Eddie still loves her. The strong and special relationship between the two makes Bay uneasy. Marco and Rodolfo, two of Bay's Italian relatives, smuggled themselves to the United States to work and stayed at Eddie's house. Rodolfo, with his lively personality, attracted Catherine's attention, but their relationship was strongly opposed by Eddie: Eddie didn't like Rodolfo and told Catherine that Rudolph was only pursuing her for his American identity. In order to prevent them from getting married, Eddie reported Marco and Rudolf's status as stowaways to the immigration bureau. Marco found Eddie in anger and planned to take revenge.

Death of a Salesman

"Death of a Salesman" is the pinnacle of Miller's drama creation. It won the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, winning him international fame. Salesman Willy Loman asked to work in the office due to old age and frailty, but was fired by his boss. Willy was frustrated and blamed his two sons for not doing their jobs properly and accomplishing nothing. Eryu retorted, mocking him for being just a bad street runner. The old salesman had had a lifetime of dreams, but now they were all disillusioned, and his self-esteem was severely bruised. He dreamily argued with his late eldest brother, who made a fortune in Africa, about his personal hobby. In the end, in order to get a life insurance premium for his family, he crashed and died while driving out late at night. The play embodies the realistic and life-oriented characteristics of Miller's tragedy, reveals the true meaning of the American dream, and warns us that simply pursuing material wealth cannot bring spiritual freedom and fulfillment; otherwise, the dream will become false and will inevitably lead to destruction. This book is a collection of "Death of a Salesman", "The Witches of Salem" and "All My Sons". It is a collection of Arthur Miller's representative plays.
