西洋镜:一个英国艺术家的远东之旅
(uk)elizabeth Keith
This book consists of "Window to the East: An Artist's Travel Notes in Japan, Hokkaido, South Korea, China and the Philippines", "Master of Color Printmaking: Elizabeth Keith" and three appendices. "Window to the East" was first published in 1928 and contains many letters and 10 color prints written by Keith to his relatives and friends during his journey in the Far East. The editor also collected more than 80 pieces of Keith's works and placed them in corresponding positions in the article according to the place, time and theme of creation. "Masters of Color Printmaking" was first published in 1933 and includes 8 of Keith's masterpieces. The editor of the original book fully affirmed Keith's artistic achievements and believed that she was comparable to Japanese ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai and Ando Hiroshige. The appendix contains 40 Chinese-themed watercolor paintings by Li Tonghe, the first foreign painter to paint Cixi's portrait.
