As a fledgling artist in London, he explored literary inspiration with Woolf and Evelyn Waugh; in Jazz Age Paris, he went to a moveable feast with Joyce and Picasso; in the Spanish Civil War, he partnered with Hemingway in adventures; during World War II, he was recruited as a spy by Ian Fleming, and was suddenly betrayed in a foreign country; in New York, as an art dealer, he experienced the turbulent avant-garde art movement. The protagonist of the story, Logan Mountsteuart, has interacted with many of the trendsetters of his time throughout his life and has traveled almost all over the world. But like us, he is also a mortal and makes various mistakes in the pursuit of happiness.
