General Henry H. Arnold, who has served as commander of the U. S. Army Air Forces, deputy chief of staff of the Army for aviation affairs, commander of the Army Air Forces, and a five-star general of the Air Force, is known as the "Father of the Modern U. S. Air Force." "Global Mission" is General Arnold's memoirs and a history of the establishment and development of the United States Air Force. In 1911, Arnold learned to fly from the Wright brothers and became one of the first pilots in the United States Air Force. General Arnold worked hard for a long time to establish an independent air force. He experienced World War I and World War II, and personally participated in the formation and development of the U.
