In the decades following Frederick Brown's death, various anthologies were published. In 2001, Ben Yalow, a veteran American science fiction fan, edited "From These Ashes: The Complete Short SF of Fredric Brown" (From These Ashes: The Complete Short SF of Fredric Brown), which included a total of 111 stories. Based on this book, Tokyo Sogensha in Japan organized the translation and published "The Complete Collection of SF Short Stories by Frederic Brown", a total of 4 volumes, which will be released one after another from 2019 to 2021. This book selects representative passages from "From These Ashes", hoping to allow readers to appreciate Frederick Brown's wonderful ideas and black humor in the shortest possible time. The opening line of "The Knock", "The last man on earth sat alone in his room. There was a knock at the door..." Is considered one of the shortest novels in the world. "Electric Beast" was praised by science fiction master Philip K. Dick as "perhaps the most meaningful - surprising, but true - novel ever produced in the science fiction circle." "The Arena" is the origin of the story in the 18th episode of Season 1 of the American science fiction series "Star Trek: The Original Generation". "The Last Martian" was adapted into the TV series "Hitchcock Theater" Season 4 Episode 32.
