Speaking of Meng Haoran (689-740), the first thing many people think of is his famous five-character quatrain "Spring Dawn" (according to the title, it should be "Spring Festival Gala Quatrains"): "I sleep in spring without realizing the dawn, and I hear birds singing everywhere. The sound of wind and rain comes at night, and the flowers fall. How much do you know?" Indeed, this little poem, which depicts a picture full of spring and colorful fallen flowers, has been firmly fixed in our memory almost as we learn the language, and it has become the first poem many of us received in our enlightenment education.
