"Rat on the Street" is a suspenseful detective novel written by Swedish writers Hufler and his wife. The book uses a fascinating storyline and concise and vivid language to describe the unknown side of Sweden's developed social welfare system. The loopholes in the welfare system that look like fairy tales also contain rats that eat tax dollars. The Hoeflers were invited to be interviewed by Swedish national television for this book, and the book also triggered the Swedish government to reflect on the Swedish welfare system and launch a large-scale investigation into social security corruption and irregularities.
