Er Yan refers to the two great poets of the Song Dynasty, Yan Shu and his son Yan Jidao. The title of Yan Shu's collection of poems is "Zhuyu Ci", and the title of Yan Xiandao's collection of poems is "Xiaoshan Ci", collectively known as "Er Yan Ci". The poetry of these two people was not only famous in the Song Dynasty, but also occupied a very important position in the entire history of poetry. Yan Shu was even regarded as the ancestor of the Yisheng family in the Northern Song Dynasty by later commentators, and Yan Jidao's achievements were even greater than those of his father.
