"Zizhi Tongjian" is a chronological history book compiled by the famous Northern Song Dynasty historian Sima Guang and his assistant Liu Shu and others based on a large number of historical materials. The book records historical events in chronological order, starting from the 23rd year of King Weilie of the Zhou Dynasty (403 BC) to the 6th year of Emperor Xiande of the Later Zhou Dynasty (959), a total of 1,362 years of history.
