Yuri Vasilyevich Bondarev, a contemporary Russian "trench school" realist writer, was born in Orsk on March 15, 1924. During the Anti-Fascist Patriotic War, he served in the artillery force with the rank of second lieutenant and was wounded twice. After the war, he entered the Gorky Institute of Literature of the Soviet Writers Association and began his career as a professional writer after graduation. In the 1980s and 1990s, he served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Soviet Union of Writers and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Writers' Union of the Russian Federation. He was awarded the Order of the Hero of Socialist Labor and twice won the Soviet State Medal. His early works focused on the creation of war themes, truly describing the bloody cruelty of war, and achieved great success. Later works focused more on philosophical thinking and exploration of social life and human destiny. Wenji was born in the 1980s. He graduated from a foreign language college in the capital, majoring in Russian. He studied at the Russian Federal State Pedagogical University in Kazan and now teaches at a university in Hubei.
