This book contains nearly two hundred of Akhmatova's most representative works in her more than sixty years of creation, carefully selected and translated by the famous contemporary Chinese poets Isha and Lao G. This book is composed of poems from several different periods: the first is Akhmatova's (1904-1925) early poems that are girlish, full of love and emotion; the second is Akhmatova's middle-term poems (1927-1949). Her works in this period are more mature and smart, especially the description of psychological details and the pursuit of love and freedom, which make her writing unique. The third is the writing of the poet's later period (1950-1966). During this period, Akhmatova experienced turmoil and setbacks, and her poems became clear, sharp, and profound because of their persistence over time. The end of the book is the long poem "Requiem" and the follow-up translation by translator Isha. The long lyrical poem "Requiem" is the pinnacle of Akhmatova's poetry creation.
