"Recitation of Chinese Classics: Zengguang Xianwen" is also known as "Xianwen of the Past" and "Xianwen of the Ancient and Modern Times". The title of the book was first seen in the opera "The Peony Pavilion" during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. From this, it can be inferred that the book was written during the Wanli period at the latest. After continuous additions by literati in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was changed into its current form, which is called "Zengguang Xianwen", commonly known as "Zengguang Xianwen". The author has never seen any book records. He only knows that the Confucian scholar Zhou Xitao revised it during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. It is probably the crystallization of folk creation. This book is composed of rhymed proverbs and selected quotes from literature. Its content is very extensive, covering almost everything from etiquette and morality, rules and regulations to customs, allusions, astronomy and geography. But the center is about the philosophy of life and the way to live in the world.
