Nalan Xingde (also known as Rongruo) left a large number of masterpieces for future generations. Liang Qichao said that he was "the number one scholar in the early Qing Dynasty". Wang Guowei, a master of Chinese studies, even praised him as "the only one since the Northern Song Dynasty". The style and content of Nalan Xingde's lyrics have the following characteristics: (1) True feelings. His lyrics are full of strong emotions and can easily arouse strong resonance among readers. (2) Nature is completely the natural expression of emotion, as Wang Guowei said, "Observe things with the eyes of nature and write emotions with the pen of nature." (3) Reminiscing, Nalan is used to immersing himself in reminiscing about the past and living in his own world. (4) Sadness is as beautiful as words, and the sadness contained in them makes it difficult to read. Three hundred years later, when we read it, we still feel desolate and our hearts are deeply touched.
