This book is a youth vernacular adaptation of "A Dream of Red Mansions" written by Cao Xueqin in the Qing Dynasty. It also includes the last forty chapters written by later generations. The original work of "A Dream of Red Mansions" tells the story of the rise and fall of the four major families of Jia, Shi, Wang and Xue and the love story of Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai. The full text of the book is adapted, retaining the two major story lines of the original work, and on this basis, through compression, deletion, and the use of modern vernacular novel language, it was rewritten into 50 chapters, presenting the main characters and classic storylines. The book is equipped with colorful illustrations of "A Dream of Red Mansions" drawn by Zhang Wen, a famous painter from the Qing Dynasty, making the book exquisite in layout and more ornamental. In addition, in order to meet the readers' needs for barrier-free reading, the book has processed the content, researched the original texts, and annotated and phoneticized important and difficult words to ensure barrier-free reading for young readers.
