During the twenty-five years from the Apocalypse to the demise of the Hongguang regime in the Southern Ming Dynasty, social contradictions were numerous and complex, among which three major contradictions were the most prominent: the confrontation between the Ming Dynasty and the Manchu regime in Liaodong; the party struggle between the Wei Party and Donglin and Fushe within the Ming Dynasty; and the struggle between the ruling class of the Ming Dynasty and the peasant uprising army.
