Nalan Xingde was a famous poet in the Qing Dynasty and played an important role in the literary history of the Qing Dynasty. His works are also widely read and appreciated by contemporary readers. This book is written by Ma Dayong and Zhao Yufei, experts in Qing Dynasty Ci poetry research. Compared with some published anthologies of Nalan Ci poetry, it has relatively distinctive features. First of all, this book contains all of Nalan Xingde's lyrics. The original version is from Tongzhitang Collection, as well as other collated editions and contemporary compiled editions. Secondly, the author makes a comprehensive annotation and detailed analysis of Nalan's Ci, especially in the analysis part, which incorporates the author's academic achievements and experiences of studying Nalan Xingde and related Qing Dynasty and modern literature and culture for many years. Third, this book also sets up an "Additional Reading" column after each Nalan Ci work, which includes selected works by Huang Jingren, Shi Chengqian, Wang Shixiang, Liu Siwan, Yan Yuanzhao, Yang Fangcan, Guo Lu, Wu Zao , Gong Zizhen, Gu Chun, Zhou Zhiqi, Xiang Tingji, Xie Zhangqing, Zhou Xingyu, Liang Qichao, Kuang Zhouyi, Wang Guowei, Liu Yazi, Yang Qi, Huang Kan, Qiao Dazhuang, Zhang Henshui, Wang Dong, Shen Zu Fen and many other famous scholars and writers from the Qing Dynasty and modern times who were influenced by Nalan Ci. These lyrics are either sung by Nalan Xingde's friends or are tributes to Nalan Ci by later generations who studied Nalan Ci. They can reflect the acceptance, dissemination and transformation of Nalan Ci from the Qing Dynasty to modern times, form a distinct historical coordinate of Nalan Ci, and also present a wealth of literature for the study of Nalan Ci. In addition, the book is equipped with dozens of paintings by the famous modern painter Chen Shaomei, enriching readers' reading experience.
