"Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" is a collection of classical Chinese short stories written in the early Qing Dynasty. It inherits the tradition of classical Chinese novels of all dynasties since Qian Bao's "Sou Shen Ji" and the legends of the Tang and Song Dynasties. It is famous for its descriptions of flower demons, foxes, and strange people doing strange things. It is not only a treasure of Chinese literature, but also a pearl of world literature. There are nearly 500 novels in the book, all of which are wonderful, showing the talent of the author "Mr. Liaozhai" Pu Songling. Pu Songling began writing "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" in his twenties, and initially completed the book when he was thirty. Over the next forty years, he continued to write new chapters and finally completed this masterpiece. This book selects more than 80 novels from the original "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", all of which can be regarded as fine works of art. It is based on a photocopy of the manuscript of the Literary Ancient Books Publishing House and revised with reference to the Kangxi manuscript, the Zhuxuezhai manuscript, the Yishi edition, and the Qingke Ting edition. Professors from Fudan University and Ph. D. Li Guikui, a student mentor, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese "Liao Zhai" Society (in preparation), and current director of the Research Center for Liaozhai Studies and Chinese Novels, participated in the selection of articles, writing of introductions and content review, and helped readers understand the famous "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" in concise language. In addition, combined with the content of the book, a number of original illustrations are attached, allowing readers to intuitively experience the "beauty of Liaozhai stories".
