This set contains three books in the Kaidan series: "Ugetsu Monogatari", "Tono Monogatari" and "The Story of the Past and Present". "Keidan Ugetsu Monogatari" includes Ueda Akunari's representative works "Ugetsu Monogatari" and "Spring Moon Monogatari". The full name of "Ugetsu Monogatari" is "Ghost Stories of Ancient and Modern Times" "The Story of Ugetsu" is based on Chinese vernacular novels and consists of many twists and turns of strange stories. The author combines classic Chinese stories of gods and monsters with Japanese folk tales. It is a representative work of "reading novels". "The Story of Spring Rain" is a companion volume to "The Story of Ugetsu". The content comes from traditional Japanese stories and has a strong satirical color. "Kaitan: Tono Monogatari" collects the works "Tono Monogatari" and "Japanese Stories from the Past" written by Yanagida Kunio. "The Tale of Tono" is Yanagida Kunio's most famous work, and it can be called the pioneering work in the study of Japanese folklore. "Japanese Tales of the Past" records folk legends that have been passed down orally from generation to generation. "Kaidan: Stories of the Past and Past" is a representative work of Japanese classical literature. It tells the folk legends of Japan in the late Heian period. The book has more than thirty volumes in total. This book selects the most exciting and representative chapters in "The Story of the Past", such as the story of dog-headed silk that is widely circulated in Japan, the legend of the ancient tomb of the chopsticks, the story of the fox fairy and the spirit turtle repaying kindness, and the secret of the revenge of the resentful spirit... Each story contains profound moral and cultural implications, advocating truth, goodness and beauty, and opposing falseness and ugliness. The book "The Story of the Past" had a considerable influence on subsequent literary creation, and is a model for later generations of "story" creation. Most of Mengyang Tapir's "Onmyoji" series are based on this book.
