The principal offenders, Matsunaga Tai and Ogata Junko, were considered husband and wife although their marriage was not registered. Matsunaga engaged in domestic violence against Ogata Junko for twenty years, and "brainwashed" the latter through both mental and physical abuse, making him his accomplice. Six of the seven people killed were relatives of Ogata Junko. Matsunaga did not take action personally, but used violence to dominate the victims. He ranked his victims to create panic. In order not to be punished, in order not to fall to the bottom of the hierarchy, the victims spy on each other until they kill each other...
