The Perpetrator's Family
Literature加害人家属
(japan) Suzuki Shinmoto
"The tragedy that happened to the perpetrator's family ultimately stems from the crime committed by the perpetrator. The perpetrator never thought that his behavior would involve his family and cause their family to suffer. If the perpetrator could have thought of this in advance, he might not have committed the crime impulsively." Nobumoto Suzuki, the person in charge of "NHK Special" and "Today's Focus", hopes that this perspective can bring some help to society, so he wrote this book. This book is based on an episode of "Confessions of the Family of a Crime Victim" broadcast on NHK TV's "Today's Focus", and significantly adds information that was not edited into the program. It starts from an ordinary family that can be seen everywhere: the police suddenly called, and the husband was arrested... It not only contains first-hand interview materials, recording the pressure and situation of the perpetrators' families after learning that their family members committed crimes; it also compiles and revisits the sensational old cases, and thinks about the phenomenon of Internet sniping against the perpetrators' families; it also discusses how to deal with juvenile crimes, prevention is better than punishment. Nobumoto Suzuki has no intention of loudly calling for the rights of the perpetrators' families, but he believes that it is meaningful for the public to understand the experiences of the perpetrators' families. As a media worker, the various interviews he started because of this book also made Suzuki Shinmoto realize once again that he should always pay attention to the role and influence of the media.
