Her and Her Cat
General Fiction她和她的猫
(japan) Shin Haicheng (japan) Nagakawa Seiki
The black-and-white animated short film "She and Her Cat" is the "fantasy debut work" of Makoto Shinkai, a new Japanese animation director famous for "Five Centimeters per Second" and many other animations. It was produced from the early summer to early winter of 1999 and published in 2000. In this film, Makoto Shinkai performed all the work on his own except for the music and voice acting for the heroine. From the perspective of a cat, he tells the story of the slightly sentimental and indifferent days "he" and his hostess spent under the same roof. The novel version of "She and Her Cat" is a short novella, consisting of four chapters: "The Ocean of Language", "The Flower of Fate", "Fake Sleep and the Sky" and "The Body Temperature of the World". It revolves around the different lives of several heroines who raise cats, and describes the different lives of the animated version. A unique and heartwarming story from different perspectives, this book looks at human life from a cat's perspective: going to work, going home, falling out of love... The girl seen in the cat's eyes is rejected by the world, but still lives stubbornly. She is still moving forward, brave and strong. The world kissed her with pain, but she responded with songs. Through Maoyan, it expresses the living conditions of young people living in the city and their true mentality when facing love, relatives, friends, and life choices. "I... And maybe she, all love this world." The faint sadness pervading the story has something in common with the mood of the generation born in the 80s and 90s who are working hard and living in big cities today, but the positive energy of not giving up is enough to cheer up the soul.
