"Memory of Sound" describes the author Riko Ogawa's relationship with music since she was a child. When she grew up, she pursued her musical dream while working at Panasonic. Born in Osaka, Riko Ogawa grew up in a family that ran a machine tool business. Because her father was a loyal jazz lover, she started learning piano at the age of three. After graduating from Keio University, she entered the Audio Research Institute of Panasonic Electric Co., Ltd., Which she had longed for at the time, and developed unique products such as "brass instrument type speakers" in the research institute. In 1993, with the bursting of Japan's bubble economy, Ogawa Riko's department was also disbanded. Frustrated, she was invited by her boss at a low point and started her career as a jazz pianist. During this period, she insisted on playing the roles of company employee and jazz pianist at the same time. In 2014, Riko Ogawa finally returned to the front line of audio research and development, responsible for reviving the once-discontinued high-end audio brand "Technics". With her efforts, Technics successfully appeared at IFA2014 in Berlin, Germany, and publicly announced the brand's resurrection.
