"With Dad" is a play script written by Mr. Inouesha and published in "New Wave" magazine in 1994 (the single volume was published by Shincho News in 1998). It was premiered by the Komatsu Theater Company that year and has been performed in Russia, France and other countries. In July 2004, the play was put on the screen again, directed by the famous director Kazuo Kuroki, and the protagonist Mizue Fukuyoshi was played by the powerful Japanese movie star Rie Kanzawa. The play tells the story of the protagonist Mizue who, three years after the Hiroshima tragedy, has never been able to get rid of the shadow of the atomic bombing. The tragic death of her father, close friends, partners, and colleagues who depended on each other made her feel guilty. Her father turned into a "soul" and stayed with her, comforting, encouraging and taking care of her. Faced with the admiration of Kinoshita, a young teacher who was interested in collecting atomic bomb materials and exposing the atrocities of the US military, she was very painful and shouted, "I can't love others..."
