The book "Hypocritical "Japan"" is an ancient history of Japan written in Chinese by a Japanese scholar. The book is divided into five parts: imperial government and sacrificial government; ancient Japanese state system; rewriting ancient postwar Japanese historiography; sending envoys to the Tang Dynasty and Japanese culture; and general history of the Heian period.
